OHIO TO CONSIDER LEGALIZATION OF MARIJUANA THIS NOVEMBER

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted certified yesterday that the political action committee ResponsibleOhio collected enough signatures to have their initiative to legalize marijuana for medical and recreational use on the ballot in November 2015.  The ResponsibleOhio proposal would amend the Ohio Constitution to provide for the legalization of the use of medical marijuana by patients with a medical marijuana certification recommended by the patient’s treating physician and the recreational use of marijuana and marijuana-infused products (candy, food, beverages) for personal use in amounts of one ounce or less by individuals 21 years of age or older, by providing, among other provisions.

Marijuana Town Hall Meeting  Wednesday, September 16th at 7 pm, 940 London Ave., Marysville.

ACCESS TO KIDS

Increased availability of marijuana and marijuana edible products put children at-risk.

HEALTH CONCERNS

“Medical marijuana” is not considered a prescription, only a recommendation and is not monitored, regulated or approved by the Federal Food and Drug Administration.

SAFE ROADS & WORKPLACES

Marijuana use causes impairment but there is currently no test for impairment like we have for drinking and driving.

COST TO TAXPAYERS

Taxes from the sale of alcohol and tobacco come nowhere near covering the healthcare costs from these substances.
